How does Sunset work?
Sunset is formulated to help reduce the appearance of alcohol flush for some people by supporting the body’s processing of acetaldehyde (a by-product of alcohol) and promoting a balanced histamine/inflammatory response that can contribute to flushing. Individual results vary.
Where is Sunset made? Is it FDA approved?
Sunset is manufactured in the USA in a cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)–certified facility.
Dietary supplements are not FDA-approved the way medicines are. Instead, supplement manufacturers are responsible for meeting applicable FDA regulations and for quality controls such as ingredient verification and batch testing to ensure products meet their specifications. When is the best time to take Sunset?
We generally recommend taking Sunset around 30 minutes before your first drink. If you take it after you’ve started drinking, it may still be helpful for some people.
How many Sunset capsules should I take?
Take 3 capsules with water about 30 minutes before your first drink. If needed, you can take an additional 3 capsules later while drinking. Do not exceed 9 capsules in 24 hours.
How do I know if I have alcohol flush reaction?
Alcohol flush reaction (often called Asian flush or Asian glow) is facial redness that can happen after drinking alcohol.
A common cause is a genetic change in the ALDH2 enzyme, which helps the body process acetaldehyde, a by-product of alcohol. When ALDH2 activity is reduced, acetaldehyde can build up more than usual — and some people experience symptoms like facial flushing, warmth, headache, nausea, or general discomfort.
The ALDH2 variant is more common in people with East Asian ancestry, but it can occur in many populations. (And not all flushing is ALDH2-related — if symptoms are severe or new, it’s worth checking with a clinician.)
Can I suffer from alcohol flush reaction even if I'm not Asian?
Yes. Whilst it’s often associated with East Asian ancestry, alcohol flush can affect people of any background. A common cause is lower activity of the ALDH2 enzyme, which can lead to higher levels of acetaldehyde, a by-product produced when the body processes alcohol.
Genetics can play a role, so flushing sometimes runs in families — but not all flushing is ALDH2-related. If symptoms are new or severe, it’s worth checking with a clinician.
Is Sunset vegetarian? Does Sunset contain gluten, dairy or soy?
Yes — Sunset is suitable for vegetarians. We use a vegetable cellulose capsule (no gelatin). Sunset is formulated without gluten, dairy, or soy.
Are there any side effects to Sunset?
As with any dietary supplement, some people may experience side effects, especially if they’re sensitive to certain ingredients. We recommend reviewing the ingredient list and starting with the suggested serving.
